Coulee Region Paranormal Investigation Society (CRPIS)

Seek Ye Knowledge First and In Knowledge, the Truth.
Who Are We?
The Coulee Region Paranormal Investigation Society or CRPIS, began its existence as the Coulee Region Ghost Hunting Society or CRGHS in 1991. Started by Mark Waldenberger, the group started with three members and gradually grew and continuted to grow. In 1996, the CRGHS changed its name to the Coulee Region Paranormal Investigation Society or CRPIS with Mark Waldenberger acting as Director and Chief Field Investigator. Since that time, the CRPIS membership has grown and interest continues to grow in membership and the study of the paranormal.
Now having members locally and others in satellite groups around Wisconsin and Minnesota, the CRPIS is on its way to becoming a premier paranormal investigation force for the study of phenomena and assistance to those experiencing the phenomena. Made up of like minded individuals, the members of the CRPIS enjoy an adventurous spirit and a thirst for knowledge and answers. The CRPIS is a non-profit organization and never charges for anything that we do or present to the public.
The mission of the CRPIS is threefold and is guided by our group motto, "Seek Ye Knowledge First And In Knowledge, The Truth". The mission statement of the CRPIS is as follows:
I.) To Document, examine and research all reports of paranormal activity that are reported to the CRPIS and to obtain as much information as possible about the phenomena being experienced. In pursuing this first part of their mission, the CRPIS works with other investigation groups and individual investigators to share knowledge obtained and to advance the field of paranormal investigation and study by freely sharing information and working on collaborative projects. These projects include using new technologies and protocols in field work.
II.) To Help those experiencing paranormal phenomena understand what they are experiencing and the possible causes relating to it. We try to assist clients in researching anything and everything that might be a possible cause for the activity and then suggest positive methods for dealing with the phenomena. People need someplace and someone to turn to in a time of crisis and we provide a non-judgmental and impartial party to whom people can turn in their time of need.
III.) To Educate the public about the paranormal and to dispell myth and folklore with truth and answers. We attempt to get people to open their eyes to the possibilities and see beyond the easily explained to find the hidden wonders and truth waiting to be discovered. Using the most up to date and accepted thoeries and information available, we hope to cause people to think more about the subject as a part of life and not as something to be afraid of. Ignorance is the one single thing that threatens to hold us back from enlightenment and replacing misguided anger or fear of the unknown with facts and data can help to break through and benefit everyone.
The CRPIS is currently expanding our area of operations and looking for satellite groups or individuals not associated with other groups or organizations to work in other areas of Wisconsin and Minnesota. Currently, the CRPISoperates in La Crosse, Vernon, Jackson, Trempeleau and Buffalo counties in West Central Wisconsin and adjacent communities in Minnesota including La Crescent, Dakota, Winona and Dresbach. Although these areas comprise the primary area of operations, the CRPIS is not adverse to assisting other groups and individuals in investigations or collaborations in areas outside our normal operations area. The CRPIS will also consider sites in other areas of the country on a case by case basis.
You can be sure that when you contact the CRPIS, you have engaged a professional investigation group who takes the subject and you seriously. We know that privacy is a foremost concern for our clients and we enforce a strict policy to protect your privacy, your identity and your peace of mind. YOU decide the level of privacy you are comfortable with and we go about our work accordingly. Above all else, we want you and your family to be comfortable and know that help is there for you. You can count on us to do all we can to help you and get your life back to a more normal state.
When it is all said and done, the knowledge we stand to gain from this work and the advancements that mankind could make from viewing death differently and understanding not only the visible but the invisible world around us are astounding. The CRPIS and other groups like us are working tirelessly to gain insights and understanding of this undiscovered country to which we all must eventually journey. Hopefully, the answers we are seeking will be made known to us and a veil will be lifted from our eyes enabling us to see beyond the boundries of the physical.
Now that you know a little about who we are and what we do, we invite you to enter our website and examine the data we have collected in our investigations and hunts. All that we ask is that you keep an open mind balanced with a healthy skepticism and allow yourself to see the possibilities that might exist outside of the known world. See beyond the normal and allow yourself to weigh the data without the biases of logical education or mainstream science.
Disclaimer: The CRPIS and its members do not claim to be the definitive answer to the questions posed by ghosts, spirits and haunting or other related pheneomena. We work hard to be a professional and thorough paranormal investigation team and we hope that the work we do may add more pieces to the larger puzzle overall while helping people in the process. Anyone who charges you for their services or who claims to have all the answers is a sham and you should run in the opposite direction. The data presented on this site is taken from actual investigations and its value is left to the interpretation of the viewer. With that in mind, we invite you to enter our website.

*Important Announcement*
The CRPIS membership has undergone some changes and a new group has launched from members who have decided that they want to forge out and start their own group. This is not a bad thing, this is not a negative. In the group dynamic, this is a normal course of events that happens and it has happened to CRPIS. The positives to be gained from this are awesome and we hope that 2009 is the best year for our paranormal research in our history!
We will be re-inventing ourselves as it were here at CRPIS with new faces, new investigations and this web page will probably either disappear in favor of a new format entirely or undergo some noticeable changes. Please know that CRPIS is not disbanding nor are we fading away into that good night, we are simply going through a process and as with all things, that means there will be some changes.
The CRPIS will still be here to serve your needs and fulfill our mission so feel free to contact us using any of the methods on our contact page. If for any reason this website disappears, we will try to give as much advance notice as we can and let you know how you can keep in touch with CRPIS . We will never cease being and like the energies we study, we are not destroyed but we do change states. Look for a link on our links page soon for Spirit Chasers!
We look forward to continue serving you in 2009 and we wish our former team members well in their new venture as Spirit Chasers. We look forward to working with them on joint investigations and let's face it, our area can only benefit from having two top-notch paranormal research groups so close by. We will be supporting the efforts of our former colleagues and the future looks bright for all. Good luck to all and to all our clients and those who just like to drop in from time to time, we wish you the brightest and happiest 2009!
